Dear President Peng

　　亲爱的彭校长：

　　I have just arrived back in the UK and have been reflecting on my China trip and how much I enjoyed it.

　　我刚刚返回英国。一路上，这次中国之行带给我的欢乐和思考一直萦绕在我心间。

　　The highlight for me, and I believe my colleague Florence, was the wonderful day we spent with you, your staff and students at the school. It felt like a very special day and the start of something quite exciting. The welcome you all gave us was extraordinary and we felt so looked after and warmly welcomed into your wonderful school.  I would like to personally thank you for making it a real day to remember.

　　对于我，以及我的同事周静怡而言，这次中国之行最让我难忘的部分就是和您、您的团队及学生们度过的快乐而有意义的一天。那一天就像一个特殊节日，又像一次兴奋之旅的开始。我们受到了你们热情的欢迎和周到的招待。在此，我谨致以诚挚的感谢：感谢您给了我们深刻铭记的一天。

　　I actually found it very moving when the students sang to us something tremendously uplifting about singing that transcends all language barriers.  The questions the pupils asked were very inciteful and I was interested to see how forthright and brave they were with the Education Minister.

　　当全体学生面向我们唱歌的时候，我真的是万分感动。那一刻，令人振奋的歌曲超越了所有语言的障碍。那一天，学生们的提问也非常直白和大胆，我很高兴看到他们能够对教育局局长如此坦率和纯真。

　　President Pang you are obviously an inspirational  leader for your school and I totally understand why the Education Minister has entrusted you in leading a school for the future. It was a true pleasure meeting you and hearing you speak.

　　很显然，彭校长您是一位思维非常活跃、善于鼓舞人心的杰出领导。我完全明白了为什么教育局局长对您如此信任，并托付铁一的未来于您。很高兴能有幸与您结识、听您演讲。

　　Please do thank all your staff who were such gracious hosts and looked after us so well. It felt like a family.  Thank you also for the delicious meal the night before and my husband and I are very much enjoying the wine you kindly gave us.

　　请您一定要向您的团队成员们转达我的感谢，他们是如此的亲切优雅、考虑周到，让我们倍感宾至如归。也感谢您在会议前晚为我们接风时准备的丰盛晚宴，以及临行时您个人给我们赠送的红酒，我和我的丈夫都非常喜欢。

　　Could you also pass on my thanks to the students.  Although I obviously will need to brush up on my table tennis and will certainly sing with them next time!  Perhaps You Lift Me Up or Titanic as I understand they know them both！

　　您能够再为我转达我对学生们的感谢吗？尽管很显然我还需要再温习提升我的乒乓球水平。我很希望下次能够和学生们一起唱歌，可能《You lift me up》和泰坦尼克号的主题曲都是不错的选择，我相信学生们都比较熟悉这两首歌曲。

　　I know you are talking with Will and Susan about ideas for summer programmes and when you have had a chance to discuss what you are looking for we will see what programmes we can offer.  I do hope some of the students can come to the UK - the gap is English - and so looking at ways to bridge the gap will be so important.

　　我知道您最近正和精英世家的陈总他们在商量夏令营的事情，希望我们也有机会可以一起商量，看我们能否给你们提供合适的项目和合作。我真的特别希望一些学生能来英国，但是语言是一个较大的障碍。因此，如何缩小这个语言障碍，是我们都要重点关注的方面。

　　If you are ever coming to the UK please do come and visit. You would be most welcome.

　　如果您要来英国的话，请一定要来我们学校看看。我们欢迎之至。
